Excel has detected that 'FileName' is an SYLK file but cannot load it. Either the file has errors or it is not an SYLK file. Click OK to try to open the file in a different format.
Cause of Error

The file has the uppercase letters 'I' and 'D' as its first two letters.

Open the file and insert an apostrophe character (') as the first character on the first line of the file. Save the file and reimport into Microsoft Excel.
Solution Details

When a text file has the characters 'I' and 'D' as the first two characters in the file, you get an error message.
NOTE: This error does not occur when the lowercase characters 'i' and 'd' are the first two characters of a text or CSV file.
To resolve the error:
1) Click 'Cancel' on the error message. This cancels the import process.
2) Open the file in any text editor.
3) Insert an apostrophe (') as the first character on the first line.
4) Save the text file.
5) Open the file again in Microsoft Excel.
